Der Stadt Friedhof 5558 5517 Google Maps This cemetery was first known as Der Stadt Friedhof by the early German settlers. It was later known as the Union Cemetery and the City Cemetery before returning to its original name. Der Stadt Friedhof is German for "The City Cemetery".

Armand Lindig's compiled "Records of Der Friedhof Cemetery" in 1990. This book mentions "In 1850 a Roman Catholic Church was built, and they started their own cemetery. This resulted in the City Cemetery being left to the existing Protestant congregations. These congregations are Bethany Lutheran, Holy Ghost Lutheran, Zion Lutheran and the United Methodist Church."

Section C of Der Stadt Friedhof include graves for members of the nearby Christian Methodist Episcopal church.
