The obituary index has been compiled since about 1980 with some missing information in the early years.
The data in this obituary section is updated regularly.
Requests for obituaries

Particular items that the researcher should be aware of while using this data are:

The Fredericksburg Standard-Radio Post is a single newspaper
today. However, prior to October 1984, there were two
separate newspapers, The Fredericksburg Standard and
The Fredericksburg Radio Post. Therefore, any names
shown prior to October 1984 may be in either or both
of the papers.

More significant in older issues but still occurring today,
the paper sometimes has a death section located elsewhere
in the paper (usually but not always in the same section)
that lists obituary information. The researcher should
search the entire paper if a name appears in this index
but is not found in the obvious obituary section.

Sometimes an individual appeared in the obituaries for
more than one issue. In some cases, multiple dates maybe be included in the list.
The reviewer should also search before
and after the listed date(s) for corrections and additional
information. The date of death will be the key to where
your search should begin.
